Students are often asked to reflect. They share quick thoughts or something general, then they move on.
This lesson slows that moment down. Students learn how to reflect in a way that helps them see their own growth.
They focus on three simple ideas:
- what has changed
- what helped them improve
- what they want to keep working on
With modeling and guided practice, reflection becomes more specific and more thoughtful. Students begin to talk about their learning with clarity. They start to recognize the role of practice, feedback, and effort. They see themselves as learners who grow over time. This shifts reflection from a quick task into a meaningful part of learning.
