This is the form we use to record goals, strategies, and monitor progress in reading. We print them back-to-back and keep a copy for each child in our conferring notebook. When we have filled the form with our conferring notes, we replace it with a clean one and transfer the full one to our assessment notebook or student file.
These become an invaluable source of data for celebrating growth, writing report cards, conferring with parents, or for documentation when referring a child for extra academic or behavioral help.
Gail's Conference with Brandon
Gail uses a simple text with Brayden to model and explain the comprehension strategy Recognize and Explain Cause-and-Effect Relationships. Brayden is engaged, adding his own thinking and deeper meaning, which is a goal for each of our students.
