I recently had a conversation with a group of fourth- and fifth-grade teachers from northern Texas. This enthusiastic group was made up of educators in different stages of their careers. Their excitement for starting school the next day was contagious. Each of them had used the Daily 5 and CAFE the year before with great success. They could hardly wait to get started with their new students, work together to put what they'd learned at our workshop in place, and support each other as the year progressed.
As we enjoyed our lively chat, punctuated with questions, reflections, laughter, and excitement, the question came up about continuing their learning throughout the year, and that conversation included talk about the new edition of The Daily 5. They wanted to know the best way to approach the book. Read it cover-to-cover? Skip around? Start at a specific chapter?
We have great news for my new friends from northern Texas as well as the rest of you! Allison Behne, who has a lot of experience with book studies and book clubs alike, has written the new book study for the second edition of The Daily 5. Whether you are looking to have a guide for the book as part of a team or book study, or as an individual reader, we are delighted to share it with you today.
